Becoming a TNG Customer

If you’re are currently not a Toccoa Natural Gas
customer and desire gas service, follow these steps.

Step 1. Natural Gas Availability

Call one of our local customer service representatives to determine if a natural gas line runs in front of your home.  If a line does not, request that a survey be conducted in your area to see if others want natural gas appliances.  If there is enough interest, we may extend the gas main at no charge to local homeowners.

Step 2. Tap Application

Once a natural gas line tap is determined to be possible, download and print a tap application (Adobe Acrobat Reader), fill out the required information and mail to the nearest customer service center or get a tap application from any of our customer service representatives.

Step 3. TNG Superintendent on Location

After we receive your completed tap application, our TNG Superintendent will make an appointment to come to your home, survey your land to see where you want your meter installed. If you have no preference we will decide.

Step 4. Tap Installation Scheduled and Installed

After the application has been approved and payment received we will schedule a tap installation. *Note-Payment must be received prior to tap installation.

Step 5. Tap Made

After tap installation, customer must pressure their line. A pressure test must be conducted and reviewed prior to gas being turned on. A Pressure Test must hold 40 lbs of pressure for 4 hrs and be inspected by a TNG technician.

Step 6. Appliance Installation

Appliances may be installed prior to step 5 but cannot be hooked up during the pressure test.

Step 7. Appliance Inspection

The final step is an appliance inspection.  We must inspect your piping and connections prior to turning on the service.

Step 8. Residential New Service Agreement

Once we have passed your inspection, the gas meter will be on our side of the meter and off on customer side. The technician will leave the swivel for the customer or plumber to make the final connection to meter.
